The Deerfield Tenants' Association
"leading the charge for a better, safer Deerfield"

The Deerfield is an historic building located at 676 Riverside Drive in Harlem, New York.

The D.T.A is a non profit association geared to help people pass through competitive employment screening practices. The mission of the Deerfield Tenants' Association is to present a united voice of the Deerfield tenants, preserve the integrity of this historic building, and provide support to all tenants who are not getting the services they are entitled to from the management/ownership of our building.

D.T.A works directly on building wide issues, however we are happy to provide recommendations to tenants for their particular circumstances, as well form alliances with other tenant's associations to exchange experiences and information.

The new ownership of the building, is disrupting the lives of the Deerfield tenants with the hope to driving them out. Read below about one of NYC's 10 Worst Landlords, Margaret Streicker Porres of Newcastle Realty Services.
The building was without gas from August 23rd 2006 until March 2007, there were holes in our apartments , dust, asbestos, lead paint, intermittent hot water, broken elevators, broken doors, the repairs have been slow and inconsistent.
